In a semi-arid region like Santa Monica, fresh water resources are limited. As an environmentally conscious member of our community, we will serve water to our patrons only upon request. So if you'd like a glass of water or a refill, we'll be glad to bring it to you, just ask!
We support local economies by striving to purchase from local businesses
As a company based in a Sustainable City, Spitfire Grill commits to conducting business in a manner that safeguards health, protects the environment, and conserves valuable materials and natural resources. We are specifically focused on increasing resource efficiency and reducing waste production. Waste that cannot be eliminated, reduced, reused, or recycled will be disposed of through safe and responsible methods.
In an ongoing effort to support these policies we educate, train and motivate new and existing employees to conduct their activities in an environmentally responsible manner. We anticipate that as our company evolves, so too will our environmental policies, programs and performance.
As a company we:
Support the Management and help implement environmental policies whenever possible.
Utilize a recycling program facility-wide including: cans, glass, plastic (CGP); mixed and white office paper; corrugated cardboard; phonebooks, receipts, magazines, newspaper and green waste.
Implement environmental purchasing policies to buy recycled content office supplies whenever financially feasible.
Use reusable mugs, plates and other items instead of paper and plastic disposables in order to decrease the number of take-out containers discarded.
Investigate energy saving options whenever purchasing new equipment from computers to light bulbs.
Work with staff to test and phase in less toxic cleaning chemicals.
